If you’ve read my previous posts about Hardly Strictly Bluegrass you’ve probably gathered that I think its one of the best music festivals on the planet. I’m not going to get into all the reasons here but one thing I love about the festival is that they allow Conor Oberst to curate his own stage of performers. Oberst has been hosting the ‘Conor Brings Friends’ stage since 2011 (it was previously hosted by T-Bone Burnett), and for 2014 he brought along Dawes, Jonathan Wilson, Waxahatchee, Sharon Van Etten and The Good Life.
Since Conor Oberst was not performing in support of a new album his setlist was a career spanning one with both Bright Eyes and Mystic Valley tunes. This summer Oberst is going on tour performing with Desaparecidos a band which he originally formed in 2001 and has toured with infrequently throughout the last few years.
